NFEH to Hosts Conference on Nexus of Climate Change and Food Security and 21st Annual Environment Awards on Aug 7.

Karachi – The National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) is set to host a significant conference focusing on the nexus between climate change and food security at a local hotel on August 7th. The event will feature prominent figures including Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development Dost Muhammad Rahimoon, and Sindh Energy and Planning & Development Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah as the chief guests.
The theme for this year’s conference, “Securing Resilient Livelihoods,” underscores the importance of creating sustainable and robust communities in the face of environmental challenges. The conference will gather environmentalists, food experts, Consul Generals, government officials, and other key stakeholders.
Keynote Speakers, Guest Speakers and Panelist include Dr. Zubala Yasir Lutfi, Asst. Professor, Food Science and Agriculture Department, University of Karachi, Omar Nadeem Arif, Environmental Enginner, EMC Pakistan, Rafique Buriro, Secretary, Agriculture Department, Sindh, Wali Haider, Joint Director, Roots for Equity, Rana Awais Khan, Chairman, National Alliance for Safe Food, Shams ul Haq Memon, Advisor, NFEH.
Additionally, the event will host the 21st Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2024 ceremony, recognizing various organizations for their exemplary environmental practices.
NFEH President, Naeem Qureshi, emphasized the conference’s role in addressing the pressing environmental challenges faced by the country. He highlighted the importance of recognizing the efforts of industries and the corporate sector in adhering to environmental safety standards.
“The Annual Environment Conference is a platform to discuss critical environmental issues and to honor the hard work of industries that ensure their operations are environmentally sustainable,” said Qureshi. “This event encourages local and multinational companies to comply with both national and international environmental standards, ensuring their activities do not harm the environment.”
