Karachi, 7 th March 2024: Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig Member National
Assembly of Pakistan hails FBR for payment of sales tax refund in 30
days. Dr. Baig was taking up the issues of the refund of the pending
sales tax refund claims with FBR and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif
in his first speech after election as Prime Minister announced payment
of all sales tax refunds in 10 days which was appreciated by the
business community as they were facing serious liquidity crunch due
to stuck up of their funds. On talking to FBR Dr. Baig has been
informed that the FBR has already cleared Rs. 65 billion GST claims
and instructions have been given to all concerned chief
commissioners to expedite payment of the balance refund claims
within 30 days. Dr. Baig also requested the payment of approved
DLTL claims of the exporters pending with the State Bank of Pakistan.
