Karachi, November 08, 2023: Senior Advisor and In-charge Federal Ombudsman Karachi Syed Anwar Haider visited the office of Postal Life Insurance. He met the officials of PLI and had a detailed discussion on the performance of the institution.
Syed Anwar Haider took strict notice of the absence of the Director of PLI and expressed his concerns over his absence.
He further said that the Karachi office of PLI is facing staff shortage; the post of General Manager is vacant, most of the employees are soon to retire.
Senior Advisor said that the institution had a profitable business, it was selling thousands of policies which has now reduced to a few hundred. Syed Anwar Haider added that the citizens were also facing difficulties in receiving the previously issued policies.
Senior Advisor Federal Ombudsman said that it is an old institution that was providing inexpensive insurance, now it had come to a situation of downfall which needs proper attention.
He directed that a report on the number of staff, vacant posts and other important details should be sent to the office of the Federal Ombudsman.
