The Kashmir Society, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur observed Kashmir Black Day at
the Students Societies Centre. Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari, Dean Faculty of Social
Sciences presided over the seminar.
Talking to the participants, Prof. Dr. Taj Muhammad Lashari said that Kashmir is an integral
part of Pakistan. Since 27 October 1948, the Indian forces have occupied the Jammu & Kashmir
and committed atrocities, brutalities and massacre against the Kashmiri people. Dr. Lashari said
on 06 August 2019, the Indian Government revoked the special status granted under Article 370
of Indian Constitution to Jammu & Kashmir. He said the so called secular and democratic Indian
face is hegemonic and aggressive. The Govt. of Pakistan has pleaded the case of Kashmir case in
the comity of the nations as well as at United Nations platform and diplomatic forums in
befitting manner. The Kashmir dispute may be resolved in the spirit of the United Nations
Resolutions. Dr. Lashari appreciated the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed
Ibupoto for organizing this seminar.
Prof. Dr. Minhoon Khan Laghari, Registrar said that Pakistan has pleaded this case for its
resolution but due to world political order, the United Nations has not taken tangible efforts for
its resolution practically. It is the duty of the Muslim world to support the Kashmiri people for
their right of self determination.
Dr. Siraj Ahmed Soomro, Chairman Department of Pakistan Studies said that approximately
1.4 Million troops are deployed in the occupied valley of Kashmir. There is siege and search
operation is continue against the people of Kashmir. He stressed the need to unite to resolve the
Kashmir problem.
Dr. Ramzan Kolachi, Assistant Professor Institute of International Relations remarked that
there is blatant violation of Human Rights in the valley of Kashmir. He said that this issue may

be resolved in view of plebiscite or right of self determination as per aspiration of indigenous
people of Kashmir. The plight of the Kashmiri people is miserable and pathetic.
Dr. Ali Raza Lashari, Incharge Students Societies Centre conducted the proceedings of the
seminar. At the end, the documentary on the historical background and its genesis of the problem
of Kashmir was also played. A large number of teachers and students attended the seminar.
