In response to heightened security threats, the Peshawar district administration has imposed a 30-day ban on the use of drones and quadcopters under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), ARY News reported on Monday.
Officials stated the restriction aims to protect public safety, secure sensitive sites, and prevent disruptions to peace. Strict legal action will be taken against violators. Authorities have also urged the public to abide by the order and promptly report any suspicious drone activity.
The move follows increased aerial threats, with DG ISPR previously confirming that over 75 Indian drones had been shot down by Pakistan’s armed forces. On Sunday night, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb disclosed that Indian drones targeting civilian areas were successfully neutralized using GPS jamming and rapid radar response systems.
Speaking at a joint press briefing with DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry and Vice Admiral Rab Nawaz, he assured that Pakistan’s air defence was actively tracking Indian drone activity and taking swift preventive action to safeguard civilians.
