Zindigi Launches Overseas Accounts, Allowing Pakistanis Abroad to Bank Without a Pakistani SIM

Zindigi launches digital overseas accounts, enabling Pakistanis abroad to manage their finances in Pakistan without a local SIM.
Zindigi, powered by JS Bank, has launched Zindigi Overseas Accounts to help Pakistanis living abroad open and manage bank accounts in Pakistan entirely online.
The new service removes the requirement for a Pakistani mobile number or a physical visit to a bank branch. As a result, eligible overseas Pakistanis can access banking services in Pakistan from wherever they live.
Customers can register through their existing international WhatsApp numbers and open a digital bank account with an International Bank Account Number (IBAN). Unlike a conventional digital wallet, the service provides an account designed to meet their banking needs in Pakistan.
Overseas Pakistanis Can Manage Finances Back Home
Zindigi Overseas Accounts aim to help overseas Pakistanis remain financially connected to their families and commitments at home.
Through the Zindigi App, customers can support family members, pay utility bills, manage household expenses and make local transfers.

Moreover, the digital service allows customers to manage these financial responsibilities without travelling to Pakistan or visiting a bank branch.
Eligibility and Account Options
The digital onboarding facility is available to eligible holders of the following identity documents:
- Pakistan Origin Card (POC)
- National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
- Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC)
Customers can select between two account options, depending on their financial requirements and applicable regulatory conditions:
- Non-Resident Account Repatriable (NRAR)
- Non-Resident Account Non-Repatriable (NRAN)
These options provide different arrangements for managing funds under the relevant regulatory requirements.
Zindigi Highlights Borderless Banking Vision
Commenting on the launch, Noman Azhar, Co-Founder and Chief Officer of Zindigi by JS Bank, said the initiative supports the company’s vision of making banking simpler, more accessible and borderless.
He said geographical boundaries should not restrict access to financial services. By allowing overseas Pakistanis to open and manage accounts through international mobile numbers, Zindigi aims to bring banking closer to Pakistanis living around the world.
The launch further reinforces Zindigi’s focus on digital innovation and financial accessibility. It also aims to remove traditional banking barriers for Pakistanis who live abroad but maintain financial and family ties with the country.
