BEIJING : A woman in China has stunned internet users by raising thousands of snakes, earning more than 1 million yuan (over 40 million Pakistani rupees) annually. Chen, from Guilin, Guangxi Province, China, was born in 1995. Two years after graduating from university, she returned to her hometown to help her father raise snakes. She is now taking care of more than 60,000 snakes. She said that snakes are used to prepare various traditional medicines, while their venom is also used for medical research. Snake venom is sold for 40 to 200 yuan per gram, while their meat is sold for 200 to 300 yuan.
