White House : As National Foster Care Month comes to a close, the Office of First Lady Melania Trump and the White House Visitors Office welcomed foster and adoptive families to the White House between Tuesday, May 27, and Friday, May 30, for a series of specially-arranged tours and experiences.
At the invitation of the First Lady, foster and adoptive families enjoyed tours of the public areas of the White House and East Wing throughout the week. White House staff were on hand to greet many of these special guests and answer questions. Friday’s tour culminated in an opportunity for foster and adoptive families to watch President Trump’s Marine One departure on the South Lawn.
On Friday, each foster and adoptive family departed the White House with a copy of President Trump’s Proclamation on National Foster Care Month, which the President signed on May 7, 2025. That same day, the First Lady also released her own statement on National Foster Care Month.
This special week of tours follows an announcement by the Office of the First Lady that Mrs. Trump had secured a $25 million investment in the President’s Fiscal Year 2026 Budget for Foster Youth. These achievements help demonstrate Mrs. Trump’s continued support for the well-being of children through Fostering the Future, a BE BEST initiative, which focuses on uplifting children and youth who have experienced foster care and supporting them in achieving long-term success.
