KARACHI, August 5, 2024: Waqar Mehdi, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh and General Secretary of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh chapter, has condemned the actions taken by Narendra Modi on 5 August 2019 as a heinous conspiracy, likening the Indian strategies in occupied Kashmir to those employed by Israel in Palestine.
In his message on Kashmir Exploitation Day, Waqar Mehdi stated that India aims to eradicate the unique identity, culture, and Muslim majority of occupied Kashmir. He highlighted that following the abrogation of Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, over 5 million non-Kashmiris have been granted domicile in the region. Mehdi emphasized that India’s efforts to alter the demographic composition of occupied Kashmir are in direct violation of United Nations resolutions and international laws.
Waqar Mehdi affirmed that the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for the right to self-determination and will continue to do so.
