KARACHI : Vice Chancellor Dow University and Focal Person for MDCAT 2024 Prof. Nazli Hossain, has said that with the use of modern technology and all humanly possible efforts have been made to prevent the leak of MDCAT paper. She said that as per the directives of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council(PMDC) no unauthorized or irrelevant persons will be allowed to enter the test centers. In this regard, Sindh government has issued guidelines to city district administration and relevant authorities. She said this while answering the questions of the media representatives during MDCAT 2024 press briefing at A.Q Khan Auditorium,DIMC-DUHS. On this occasion, Registrar Dow University Dr. Ashar Afaq, Controller Examination Dr. Fuad Sheikh and Director Security Col. (Rtd) Qaimuddin were also present. She said that as per the responsibilities assigned by PMDC, Dow University is conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for the year 2024-25 across Sindh, including Karachi, on Sunday, September 22, in which more than 38,000 students from across the province will appear. Prof. Nazli Hossain said that the preparations to conduct the MDCAT have been completed. The MDCAT will be held at 2 exam centres in Karachi, NED University and Cricket Ground Ojha Campus, Dow University, Liaquat University of Medical and Science in Jamshoro. Health Sciences, Bilawal Sports Complex at Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), Police Training School in Larkana and IBA Public School in Sukkur. She said that 6,846 students will appear in MDCAT at Cricket Ground, Dow University Ojha Campus and 6000 will appear at NED test centre in Karachi. She said that more than 12,659 candidates will give MDCAT in Jamshoro, 4,800 in Larkana, around 2,800 candidates in Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah) and 5,500 candidates in Sukkur will appear in MDCAT. She said that separate entry points have been made for boys and girls. She said that examination centers will be monitored in closed circuit cameras. Sitting arrangements for lecture halls in Ojha campus while in NED adjacent Wedding Hall is arranged. She said that there is no parking in exam center at Ojha Campus while arrangements have been made with Karachi University for parking the cars of parents of students coming to NED.Pro Vice Chancellor Nazli Hossain said that if found necessary, section 144 will also be enforced. She said Masks, pans, mobiles are not allowed, also students should not bring food, water bottles, pens and hardboards all things will be provided by Dow University. She said that don’t believe on any rumours circulating on social media regarding paper leakage. She said that the body search of the students will be done in three stages for which a body search will be done in addition to the metal detector and women police officers will be arranged for the body search of the students. She said that Medical teams consisting of doctors from 1122 and Dow will made available in the test centers and ambulance service will also be arranged in each test center. She said that a special traffic plan will be formed to avoid traffic.Additionally, Controller Examination Dr. Fuad Sheikh said that the answer keys will be uploaded on the website of Dow University after 6 pm on the evening of September 22.Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq told that at NED University test center, entry point for boys is the Main gate while girls will enter from Visitors gate.
