Netherlands : The Embassy of Pakistan, the Netherlands celebrated the 85th Pakistan Day with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.
A flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan House, which was attended by a large number of Pakistani community members from different parts of the Netherlands.
The national flag was hoisted by Charge’ d’affaires Mr. Jamal Nasir at the tune of national anthem. Special messages of the President, Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister were read out to the audience.
The Charge’ d’affaires in his address congratulated Pakistani community on the occasion and highlighted significance of the day. He underlined Pakistan’s regional and global importance by its history and geo-strategic location. He briefed about Pakistan – the Netherlands relations and highlighted the key achievements made during last seven decades. He reiterated the resolve to take bilateral relations to the new heights. He also paid homage to the Kashmiri people in their just and rightful struggle for right to self-determination from the illegal Indian occupation.
The Charge’ d’affaires greatly appreciated the Pakistani community’s active role. He urged the community members to continue to play a constructive role in the promotion of Pakistan – the Netherlands relationship. The ceremony ended with prayers for the prosperity, safety and economic stability of Pakistan.
