The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi held a diplomatic reception to commemorate 75th years of Indonesia – Pakistan relations: “Journey of Mutual Trust and Growth”. Karachi, November 20, 2025 — The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Karachi held a diplomatic reception to commemorate 75 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Pakistan with the theme “Journey of Mutual Trust and Growth.”

The event was attended by Sindh provincial government officials, the diplomatic corps, business leaders, academics, media partners, and the Indonesian community in Karachi. In his speech, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Karachi, Mr. Mudzakir, emphasized that the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations is not merely a historical milestone, but also a reflection of the strength of trust, solidarity, and cooperation that has been established since the independence of both countries. He stressed that Indonesia and Pakistan continue to demonstrate their commitment to expanding collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, education, security, and community relations. This diplomatic reception also featured various elements of Indonesian culture— ranging from a “Tari Piring” known as a plate dance performance from West Sumatra, culinary specialties from across the archipelago, to traditional handicrafts—with the aim of strengthening people-to-people contact and introducing the richness of Indonesian culture to the Pakistani people.

This cultural collaboration is expected to serve as a bridge to strengthen bilateral relations. During the event, videos were shown featuring various works by Indonesian stateowned enterprises such as PT Pertamina, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, PT PAL, PT PP, PT Adhi Karya, and PT PLN Indonesia Power, showcasing their portfolios in the fields of energy, strategic industries, defense, and infrastructure. The Chief Minister of Sindh, Mr. Syed Murad Ali Shah, as the Chief Guest at this event, expressed his deep appreciation for Indonesia’s contribution in strengthening friendly relations and strategic partnerships. He emphasized that Indonesia is an important partner for Pakistan, especially in efforts to expand regional economic networks and strengthen regional stability. As part of its commitment to the “Journey of Mutual Trust and Growth,” the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi emphasizes the importance of enhancing business connectivity through the promotion of two-way trade and investment opportunities. With the enormous economic potential in both countries, the momentum of 75 years of diplomatic relations is considered a strategic point to encourage more concrete and future-oriented cooperation.

The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi would like to express its gratitude for the support of all partners and sponsors, such as Emirates Airline, Gerry’s Visa, and Polani Travels, who contributed to the organization of this event by providing two free return flight tickets from Karachi to Jakarta/Bali to lucky guests. The Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi believes that the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations is not only a reflection of the long journey of the two countries, but also a foundation for accelerating strategic partnerships in the future. Through strong trust and mutual growth, the two countries are expected to continue to bring benefits to their respective communities and the wider region.
