Sports Week Kicks Off at SABS University, Jamshoro

Jamshoro: Sports week has started at the Shaheed Allah Buksh Soomro University of Art, Design and Heritages, Jamshoro in which boys and girls students are taking part in different sports including cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, tug of war, chess, volley ball, shooting ball, marathon and others.

A colorful function was organized by Convener Sports Prof. Syed Ali Abbas Jafferi and committee members Prof. Hina Marvi Khilji, Muhammad Zaman Bhutto and Arshad Ali Qureshi. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Vice-chancellor SABS Prof. Dr. Bhai Khan Shar said that sports are indispensable for physical and mental health. Curriculum activities are very useful for life, heart and mind rejuvenation by being free from academic affairs, grief’s and other issues, he added.

Dr. Shar emphasized students that in addition to education, take part in sports to promote your physical and mental health as such activities create in a person such abilities as endurance, peace and tolerance which are the most effective practices for practical life and also play key role in exhibiting their hidden talents.

On the first day of sports week in marathon amongst employees Chander Kumar, Marcus Masih and Munawar Laghari won first, second and third position. From male faculty members Fahad Shams Nizamani, Hassan Kashigar and Muhammad Zaman Bhutto got 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Amongst female faculty member Saba Qayoom Laghari, Hina Marvi Khilji and Uzma Arisar got 1st, 2nd and 3rd position. From boys Faisal Nawaz Dahiri, Huraira and Adil Baloch whereas from girls Rutba Memon, Rabia and Um-e-Aiman secured 1st, 2nd and 4rd position respectively.

To encourage the sports passion Vice-chancellor SABS took part in marathon race along with boys and girls. The Sports Week is will conclude on December 18, 2021.
