Karachi : Sindh Minister for Food, Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman, on the occasion of May Day said that workers play a pivotal role in the development of any society and Pakistan’s economy is built on their tireless efforts, he stated that May Day is not merely a single day but a symbol of the struggle, sacrifices and the pursuit of rights by the working class, reminding the world of the historic sacrifices of Chicago’s laborers, he said that the Sindh government is undertaking concrete and practical measures for the welfare of workers, including implementation of minimum wage laws, provision of social security and healthcare facilities, and ensuring safety at workplaces, the provincial minister added that hard work, honesty and continuous struggle are the foundations of a strong and successful society and the government is actively working to ensure that workers receive their due rights in a timely and effective manner, he further said that comprehensive policy-making is underway to address the issues faced by workers while strict implementation of labor laws in industrial and commercial sectors is being ensured, he said that in line with the vision of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, various programs and reforms are being introduced to empower the labor class, adding that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always been the voice of the working class and will continue to uphold their rights, he emphasized that a prosperous worker guarantees a strong economy and a developed Pakistan, and the government remains committed to achieving this objective through all possible measures
