The Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC), established under the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Act, 2011, remains committed to the protection and promotion of human rights across the province. Through policy advocacy, capacity-building initiatives, and direct interventions, the Commission continues to strengthen institutional mechanisms, address systemic challenges, and work toward meaningful impact for vulnerable communities.
I am pleased to share with you the SHRC Annual Report for the year 2023–2024. The report offers a detailed overview of the Commission’s activities over the past year, reaffirming our mission to advance human rights and ensure accessible, equitable justice for all in Sindh.
This report highlights progress in key areas including complaint resolution, legislative review, inspections of detention facilities, public hearings, and multi-sectoral engagement. It also documents SHRC’s efforts to address pressing concerns such as child labour, early and forced marriage, religious freedoms, the rights of persons with different abilities, and protections for transgender and other marginalized communities.
We hope this report serves as a valuable resource for your institution. We would welcome your feedback, and look forward to your continued support as we implement SHRC’s Strategic Plan 2023–2027 and strengthen rights-based governance across the province.
