Karachi ::Shan Shares, the corporate identity of Shan Foods, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SHINE Humanity to enhance clinical facilities in Sindh’s Kunri district. Building on its previous partnership with SHINE Humanity last year, Shan Shares’s latest project “Growing Flavor” focuses on improving community conditions in Kunri, Umerkot, which is recognized as Asia’s largest farm for red chilies.

The Shan Shares Shifah Gah, powered by SHINE Humanity, reinforces Shan Foods’ commitment to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Wellbeing, and sheds light on the significant work performed by Shan Shares and SHINE Humanity through their satellite clinic in the region.

“Local farming communities, particularly women and children, face barriers to timely, quality healthcare. This basic health unit brings essential services closer to home, reducing travel, lowering costs, and enabling earlier care. Our aim is to improve long-term health outcomes and strengthen community resilience,” said Sammer Sultan, Co-Chairperson, Shan Foods.

In December 2025 alone, the clinic saw an impressive turnout from local communities, with almost 69% of patients comprising of women and girls. The most common diagnosis involved MSK and orthopedic issues, followed by infections and bites, gastrointestinal, dermatology, and respiratory concerns. Following the increase in clinic’s working days and staff capacity, the clinic is looking at an increased influx of patients, leading to better community health and wellbeing.

“As an organization that works every day with the underserved communities in the country, Shan Shares’s initiative to develop Kunri’s healthcare infrastructure is a remarkable journey, and has significantly and positively changed the life of its people” said Faheem Khan, Chief Executive Officer, SHINE Humanity.

From general medicine to pediatrics to women’s health services, the jointly-launched clinic will increase its staff capacity to include a female doctor, and will also increase the frequency of clinic days to accommodate the region’s growing interest and demands.
