Karachi: The Sadar Town Karachi Council has unanimously approved a surplus budget of Rs. 4 billion 38 crore 4 lac 57 thousand 544 for the financial year 2025-26. The total expenditure for the new financial year is estimated at Rs. 4 billion 37 crore 94 lac 7 thousand 350. The budget shows a saving of Rs. 10 lac 50 thousand 194.
Town Chairman and Convener Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh presented the budget at the budget meeting held at the auditorium. After detailed deliberations and discussions, the government and opposition members approved the budget.

Key Highlights of the Budget
– Allocation for employee salaries: Rs. 2 billion 18 crore 77 lac
– Development projects: Rs. 1 billion 27 crore 70 lac
– Contingency fund: Rs. 37 crore 18 lac
– Repair and maintenance: Rs. 49 crore 28 lac
– Environmental protection and disaster management: Rs. 80 lac (as per Sindh government’s directives)
The Sindh government is expected to provide Rs. 2 billion 28 crore as OZT (Octroi) share annually. Chairman Mansoor Sheikh said that the town administration has increased revenue sources in various departments and expects to generate Rs. 1 billion 35 crore 38 lac from its own sources.
Achievements and Future Plans
Chairman Mansoor Sheikh highlighted the town’s achievements in road construction, park development, street lighting, water and sewage system improvement, and school development. He thanked the council members, opposition, women, and minority members, and officials for their cooperation. He also congratulated the finance department officials for preparing a realistic budget.
