Karachi Pakistan : On June 12, Russia celebrates one of its main national holidays – Russia Day. Every year on this day, the Russian House in Pakistan holds an award ceremony for representatives of the media community “About Russia – honestly!”. In addition, the photo exhibition “Died for the Truth” is taking place today at the Russian House.
It features portraits of journalists who died for the right to tell the truth about the events in Donbass. Since 2014, 61 media representatives have been killed. The authors of the project are journalists who themselves work in the combat zone. Here is information not only about Russian journalists, but also Ukrainian ones, as well as from Europe and America.
The Russian House in Pakistan organized this exhibition to bring the truth to the people of Pakistan about both the causes of the conflict itself and the crimes against journalists, so that people in Pakistan can see and hear everything with their own eyes. The Director of the Russian House, Ruslan M. Prokhorov, expressed his gratitude to everyone, particularly the media personnel who attended the event.
More than 55-60 media representatives graced the event with their presence, and everyone received a gift from the Russian House to appreciate their work.
The exhibition paid tribute to journalists who lost their lives in the line of duty. We celebrated this day on Friday, the 13th, with a special event. Pakistani students sang Russian songs a nd Pakistani national songs for the audience, adding a touch of cultural exchange and warmth to the evening.
The Director of the Russian House gave a speech, thanking all the journalists for their hard work and support. The ceremony of the Martyrs’ Memorial was performed by the Secretary of the Russian Culture Center, Fariha Aqib. Senior journalists Javed Chaudhry, Sohail Afzal, Waqas Alam, Naimat Khan, Syed Turab Shah, Javed Qureshi, Zahid Karani, Noman Nizami, Javed Iqbal, Abdullah Serohi, Saeed Qureshi, Arshad Hashmi, Ahmed Daraz, Syeda Hoor shumail, Armaan sabir, Ali Asgar, Ehtasham Anwar, and others attended the ceremony. The evening concluded with a lovely, intimate dinner with journalists from all media outlets in Pakistan, making it a truly memorable experience.
