Renowned intellectual Anwar Maqsood, Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah and President Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah inaugurated “Piece & Pieces Vol. 2” as World Culture Festival’s Seventh Day

Karachi : The seventh day of the ongoing 39-day World Culture Festival 2025 was a vibrant celebration of art, music, film, theatre, and workshops, attended by art lovers, students, and cultural figures from Pakistan and abroad. Renowned intellectual and humorist Anwar Maqsood, along with Sindh Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah and Arts Council President Muhammad Ahmad Shah, inaugurated the SOVAPA Alumni’s art exhibition “Piece & Pieces Volume 2” at the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery. Prominent artists, including Shahid Rassam, Farrukh Shahab, and Muhammad Zeeshan, attended the exhibition. Speaking on the occasion, Anwar Maqsood said that those who can understand the harmony of lines and colors are the real artists. Every painting tells its own story; it’s not philosophy, it’s art. I am grateful to this institution for nurturing such talented students who are now making their mark. Hard work never goes unrewarded.” President Muhammad Ahmad Shah praised the alumni, saying, These students are graduates of the Arts Council and are now representing Pakistan globally. Their art, vision, and approach to life have evolved remarkably. I am proud of our alumni who are making Pakistan’s name shine around the world. The World Culture Festival is the largest in history, encompassing music, dance, theatre, film, and fine arts, all made possible through the hard work of our dedicated team. Artists from countries like the USA, Japan, Belgium, and others have even funded their own participation. This is a two-billion-rupee festival, and we aim to make it a people-owned model beyond government and institutional boundaries.” Sindh Minister for Culture Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah commended the event, stating, The World Culture Festival has showcased the positive image of Pakistan to the world. The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi is playing a vital role in promoting art and culture, and Muhammad Ahmad Shah’s contributions are truly commendable.” Renowned artist Shahid Rassam added, These alumni are celebrities in their own right, and their art is being showcased across the globe. Their hard work is clearly visible in every piece.” The day also included music performances, workshops, film screenings, and theatre, continuing the festival’s mission to celebrate creativity and cultural exchange through diverse artistic expressions.
