Red Crescent Sindh has a long history of humanitarian services

Karachi : Mr. Abbas Baloch Secretary Universities and Boards stated that Pakistan Red Crescent Society is a one of the Important humanitarian Organizations in Pakistan.He said its long history of 162 years speaks itself for its remarkable work around the world. He was speaking on the occasion of World Red Cross / Red Crescent Day at the Provincial Headquarter Karachi. 
He invited the Red Crescent to reorganize the training activities in universities and colleges as it has been done in the past.The Chairman Sindh Branch Mr. Muhammad Rehan Hashmi explained the activities of the Red Crescent Society in Sindh regarding Disaster Management, First Aid. climate change adaptation and recruitment of youth & Volunteers at large scale. He stated that the Red Crescent has already started its war preparation activities on the ground with the Volunteers and community members.He informed that a coordination meeting of all emergency services Organizations is going to be held on Monday 12th May to check the level of the preparedness and evolve joint strategy of all the Organizations in emergency response. He urged all students and Volunteers to join hands with the Red Crescent in this hour of need.Mr. Muhammad Hanif Former District Governor of Rotary, Mr. Akhtar Meer Provincial Secretary Sindh Boy Scouts, Mr. Raffique Ahmed Jafferi the Senior Vice Chairman of the Red Crescent and Mr. Kanwar Waseem spoke to the occasion and appreciated the work of the Red Crescent during disasters, war and other calamities.
A cake cutting ceremony was held on the occasion of birth day of the Red Cross / Red Crescent followed by distribution of shields to the guest speakers.
