The event, organised under the leadership of Consul General Sanjeewa Pattiwila, was held at the Iqra University Main Campus Ground and brought together diplomats, business leaders, and members of the community in a vibrant display of cultural unity.

PRBC was represented by Advisor and Chief Operating Officer Atif Farooqi and Chairman Sohail Shamim Firpo, who attended the ceremony alongside distinguished guests. Their participation reflected the council’s ongoing commitment to promoting people-to-people connections and fostering international cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Atif Farooqi said the celebration symbolised friendship, diversity, and mutual respect among nations. He appreciated the Sri Lankan Consulate for hosting what he described as a warm and vibrant event that helps bring communities closer and strengthens regional harmony.

The celebration included traditional cultural elements such as the ceremonial lighting of the oil lamp, opening remarks, traditional games, musical performances, refreshments, and a formal dinner. The festivities showcased the richness of Sri Lankan heritage and created an atmosphere of unity and cultural exchange.

PRBC stated that such engagements complement its broader mission of enhancing international business relations while supporting cultural understanding and collaborative ties between friendly countries.
