Karachi, May 14, 2025 – P&G Pakistan has once again emerged as a frontrunner in advancing gender
equity, receiving the coveted ‘Champion’ title at the 7th Annual OICCI Women Empowerment Awards.
Marking a historic milestone, P&G also became one of the first two companies, to be inducted into the
OICCI Hall of Fame, celebrating its sustained leadership and best practices in driving equality across the
workforce and community.
Hosted by the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI), these awards spotlight
organizations that are reshaping the future of work through inclusive policies, equitable opportunities, and
sustained advocacy for gender balance. OICCI’s 200+ members span 14 sectors and 35 countries, making
this a key platform to inspire collective action on workplace diversity in Pakistan.
"This dual recognition is a tremendous honor and a reflection of our consistent, values-driven journey,” said
Ovais Yousuf, VP and CEO of P&G Pakistan. “With women comprising more than half of our senior
leadership and key roles across all our sites, we are proving that inclusive workplaces are not only possible
but powerful. We are grateful to OICCI for acknowledging our progress and encouraging us to continue
challenging norms, removing barriers, and creating a world where everyone can thrive.”
At the heart of P&G’s Equality & Inclusion strategy lies its flagship initiative, #WeSeeEqual. The
company champions intersectional equity in hiring, career development, and representation, backed by
progressive parental leave, mental wellness advocacy, and training on unconscious bias and
microaggressions. In addition to fostering Gen Z inclusion, P&G promotes new-age leadership
approaches that reflect the evolving aspirations of the modern workforce.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to P&G on winning the Champions Award at the 7th Women
Empowerment Awards and their well-deserved induction into OICCI’s Hall of Fame. This recognition is
a testament to P&G’s commitment to gender equality and inclusive workplace practices. Their continued
leadership sets a powerful example for the entire corporate sector,” said Secretary General OICCI M.
Abdul Aleem.
Beyond the workplace, P&G is driving inclusive impact through strategic partnerships that empower
underserved communities. Collaborations with HOPE and Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance have enabled the
education of over 20,000 girls and extended microloans to hundreds of women, contributing to stronger,
more resilient communities. As a proud partner of STEMconnector, P&G is committed to increasing gender
representation in STEM by mentoring over 1,500 women across Pakistan. In parallel, its partnership with
NOWPDP focuses on the inclusion and empowerment of persons with disabilities, helping integrate them
into the workforce through skills training, mentorship, and job opportunities.
As P&G Pakistan celebrates this milestone, it reaffirms its long-term commitment to embedding equity
across every layer of the organization and society. The company continues to lead by example, proving that
gender equality is not just a responsibility, it’s a business imperative.
