Karachi, April 20, 2026 — The Pakistan Football League (PFL) has entered into a strategic partnership with Dream Sports Group (DSG) to develop modern football infrastructure across Pakistan, aiming to revive the country’s struggling football ecosystem and promote international-standard facilities.
Under the agreement, both organisations plan to construct 100 sports grounds and football stadiums nationwide by 2028, addressing one of the biggest barriers to football development in Pakistan — the lack of FIFA-standard venues.
For years, Pakistan’s football scene has faced setbacks due to inadequate infrastructure, with only a limited number of stadiums available that do not meet international requirements. The new alliance is expected to transform the landscape by upgrading existing facilities and building new world-class venues to support grassroots and professional football.
PFL Chairman Farhan Ahmed Junejo described the partnership as a key milestone in the league’s long-term vision to develop football in Pakistan. He said the initiative aims to ensure that talented youth are given proper platforms to pursue professional football careers at both national and international levels.
He further noted that delays in launching Pakistan’s first structured football league were largely due to infrastructure limitations, adding that the collaboration with DSG represents a decisive step toward resolving this issue and accelerating the sport’s revival.
Dream Sports Group Chairman Qaiser Baryar termed the alliance a “game changer,” stating that the project is not only about infrastructure development but also about rebuilding dreams for young athletes across the country. He emphasized that the planned 100 venues will play a critical role in nurturing talent and restoring Pakistan’s football identity.
According to officials, the initiative will also include the development of football academies alongside stadiums, creating a structured pathway for player development and professional training. These facilities are expected to serve as launching pads for emerging talent and help integrate Pakistan into the global football ecosystem.
The PFL also announced that it will unveil key leadership appointments in the coming weeks, alongside major updates regarding the league’s structure and future roadmap. These developments are aimed at strengthening governance and aligning the league with international best practices.
The partnership marks a significant step toward reviving football in Pakistan, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the initiative will usher in a new era for the sport in the country.
