PCDMA Urges FBR to Extend Income Tax Return Filing Deadline

PCDMA calls on the FBR to extend the income tax return filing deadline.
The Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchants Association (PCDMA) has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to extend the income tax return filing deadline. The association cited technical problems with the FBR’s online IRIS portal.
PCDMA Chairman Saleem Mukati said taxpayers needed more time to complete and submit their returns. He pointed to difficulties with the online filing process.
Taxpayers Face Filing Difficulties
The demand comes amid concerns over delays in issuing income tax return forms. Persistent technical problems with the IRIS portal have also disrupted the filing process.

These issues have made it harder for individuals, traders and businesses to meet the existing deadline. As a result, many taxpayers may need additional time to fulfil their legal obligations.
PCDMA Calls for a Reasonable Extension
Mukati said an extension would help taxpayers prepare and submit accurate returns. He added that authorities should not penalise people for delays beyond their control.
The association urged the FBR to announce a reasonable extension. It stressed that administrative delays and technical disruptions should not place an unfair burden on taxpayers.
PCDMA said a timely decision would give taxpayers greater certainty and help them complete the filing process without unnecessary pressure.
