ISLAMABAD: Pathfinder Group hosted the “Shaping Pakistan’s Future Forum 2026” in Islamabad, bringing together diplomats, policymakers, entrepreneurs, innovators, corporate leaders and students to discuss the future of Pakistan through technology, innovation, financial transformation and socio-economic development.

The high-profile forum was held at AMAANIBAGH Angoori under the leadership of Ikram Sehgal and featured two major sessions titled “Vision & National Impact” and “Digital Transformation & Innovation.”
The event highlighted Pathfinder Group’s growing role in promoting entrepreneurship, technological advancement, international collaboration and corporate social responsibility initiatives across Pakistan.
Opening the forum, Khalid Banuri stressed the importance of innovation, strategic partnerships and modern technology in shaping Pakistan’s future economy and development landscape.
During the first session, senior executives from Pathfinder Group’s associated divisions presented their work in financial services, digital infrastructure, technology and social welfare.
Muhammad Salman Ali discussed innovations in financial technology and digital services through iPath, while Shakeel Ahmed highlighted modernization initiatives and advancements in digital infrastructure.
Iqbal Butt shared insights into emerging technology solutions, while Mujahid Alam outlined the work of social welfare projects including Providentia Books Foundation, Pathfinder Interfaith Harmony Initiative and healthcare centres supporting underserved communities.
The first session’s chief guest, Tarik Ali Khan, praised the strong relationship between Pakistan and Canada, particularly in trade, education and people-to-people ties.
He highlighted the role of the Pakistani diaspora in Canada and appreciated Pathfinder Group’s efforts in promoting Pakistan internationally.
The second session focused on startups, artificial intelligence, innovation and the future of work.
Asad Ikram discussed opportunities for Pakistan’s youth and technology sector, while Imran Jattala emphasized the transformative impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on future industries and employment.
Farhan Ahmed presented a summary of the CITADEL Startup Challenge 2026.
Managers Uzair Alvi and Sarah Tims announced finalists of the Startup Challenge, featuring innovative startups working in healthcare, AI, sustainability, food technology, education and digital services.
The forum’s Guest of Honour, Imtiaz Rastgar, praised efforts aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s industrial and innovation ecosystem and encouraged young entrepreneurs to pursue technology-driven solutions for national progress.
Chief guest of the second session, Georg Steiner, commended the creativity and dedication of participating startups and encouraged them to engage with the Swiss Embassy for future partnerships and collaboration opportunities.
He also appreciated Pathfinder Group’s representation of Pakistan at the World Economic Forum.
In his concluding remarks, Ikram Sehgal urged Pakistan’s youth to remain resilient and ambitious in pursuing entrepreneurship and innovation.
He also highlighted Pathfinder Group’s initiatives in financial inclusion, technology and social development, including the internationally recognised Asaan Mobile Account programme.
The forum concluded with renewed commitments toward innovation, international cooperation, entrepreneurship and inclusive economic development in Pakistan.
