Karachi (14-01-2026): Pakistani carpet exporters, participating for the first time in the Heimtextil exhibition being held under the auspices of Messe Frankfurt in the German city of Frankfurt, have achieved significant success. They succeeded in securing orders from Germany as well as other European countries, the United Kingdom, the United States, and several other markets.
The carpet exporters have expressed strong optimism that next year the Heimtextil exhibition will feature a full-fledged Carpet Pavilion with a strong Pakistani presence, and that carpets will once again play a prominent role in Pakistan’s overall exports.
Chairman of the Carpet Manufacturers Association, Mian Atiq ur Rehman, who is participating in Heimtextil, said that this is the first time carpet exporters have taken part in the exhibition. Initially, with the support of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and the Government of Pakistan, a pavilion comprising 10 stalls was set up. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting them great success on their very first participation, adding that they received an excellent response. All exporters sold their displayed products, and new orders were also confirmed, which gives confidence that Pakistan’s carpet exports will gain strong momentum in the coming months.
He said they want to participate next year in a much more comprehensive and large-scale manner, for which government support is essential so that 30 stalls can be set up. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to enter the European market, and InshaAllah we will do good business there and once again increase carpet exports,” he added.
He further stated that Pakistan has a strong global identity in carpets, and buyers appreciate the quality, finishing, and color combinations of Pakistani carpets. Competing countries have not been able to match this quality, and Pakistan is still recognized worldwide because of its distinctive trends.
Another Pakistani exporter, Shahid Hussain, said that Pakistani stalls witnessed heavy footfall, with buyers from Europe, the UK, Africa, the US, and other countries visiting them and appreciating the innovation in Pakistani carpets. He added that they will participate in the exhibition next year with thorough preparation.
Export Manager Ehsan Ali of SBR Enterprise said that their participation achieved over 90 percent success, and they expect to receive many more orders, as buyers greatly liked the carpets produced by their company.
Pakistani carpet exporter M. Junaid Memon said that the response exceeded expectations. Buyers visiting the exhibition first headed to the Pakistani Carpet Pavilion, where they not only appreciated the quality of the carpets but also placed orders.
