Karachi: The Pakistan Women’s Team reached Thailand under the leadership of Secretary Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah for the participating in 4th (Baseball Federation of Asia) BFA Women’s Asian Cup Baseball Qualifier 2025. The team was seen off at Karachi Airport by Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) Secretary Women’s Wing Aisha Irum, Media Director and Secretary Sindh Baseball Association Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh.
On this occasion, team leader Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, manager and coaches Akhtar Hussain Shah, Umair Imdad Bhatti, Nadeem Sajjad Shah, senior umpire Muhammad Zubair Wattoo and the team was presented with Ajrak and bouquets. Parvez Ahmed Sheikh, while giving a congratulatory message on behalf of the President of Sindh Baseball Association Engr.Muhammad Mohsin Khan, presented a special bouquet to Syed Fakhar Ali Shah.
Later, Syed Fakhar Ali Shah, while talking to the media, thanked everyone for their love and assured his full cooperation for the promotion of baseball in Sindh also. He said that the team has reached Thailand with full preparations and they are determined to give their best. Pakistan has been drawn in Group A of the event along with India, Sri Lanka and Iran, while Group B includes hosts Thailand, Malaysia, Colombia and Indonesia.
The event will be held from April 23 to April 29. Pakistan will play first league game against India on April 24. India is ahead of Pakistan in the women’s rankings, but a tough competition is expected because team selected after great showcase of players in recently held 19th women baseball championship at Gujranwala. The top three teams in this Thailand event will qualify for the Asian Championship.
