JEONJU, SOUTH KOREA – Pakistan’s youth girls netball team has won the Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025, defeating Maldives in a dominant final performance held at Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium on Friday.
According to the Pakistan Netball Federation, the national side maintained complete control throughout the match, winning all four quarters with scores of 17-5, 34-17, 45-23, and finishing with an emphatic 60-35 victory.
Key contributions came from Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Alina, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed, whose teamwork and individual brilliance kept Pakistan ahead from start to finish.
Federation Chairman Mudassar Arian, President Sameen Malik, and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz congratulated the team, praising their exceptional performance and dedication.
Road to the Final
Pakistan had earlier secured their place in the final by beating Japan 64-39 in the semifinal—marking their sixth straight victory in the tournament and maintaining an unbeaten streak.
In the semifinal clash, the Pakistani team dominated early, taking a 21-7 lead in the first quarter, extending it to 34-19 at halftime, and closing the third quarter at 42-28, before sealing a comfortable win.
Tournament Overview
The Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship 2025 took place from June 27 to July 4, organized under the Asian Netball Federation. The competition featured 11 top youth teams from across Asia, divided into two groups:
- Group A: Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, India
- Group B: Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Maldives, Saudi Arabia
