KARACHI: Efforts to promote Pakistani Art on the global stage received fresh momentum after a delegation from Crescent Art Gallery met Pakistan’s newly appointed High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, to discuss cultural diplomacy, international art exhibitions and initiatives aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s image abroad.

The delegation, led by Chairman Nasir Javed and Chief Executive Officer Sameer Nasir, congratulated the High Commissioner on assuming his diplomatic responsibilities and highlighted the gallery’s role in organising art exhibitions and cultural events in Pakistan and internationally.

During the meeting, the Crescent Art Gallery representatives briefed the High Commissioner on the organisation’s efforts to showcase Pakistani artists through exhibitions and cultural programmes in different countries. They said visual arts remain a powerful medium for fostering international cultural understanding while presenting Pakistan’s artistic heritage and creative identity to global audiences.
High Commissioner Tipu Usman said art and culture represent the soft diplomatic strength of every nation and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting Pakistani artists and cultural initiatives in the United Kingdom. He assured the delegation that the Pakistan High Commission would provide full support in facilitating international exhibitions, introducing local artists to wider audiences and encouraging cultural exchanges.
Both sides agreed on the importance of expanding international art exhibitions and cultural programmes to strengthen Pakistan’s cultural presence worldwide and enhance the country’s positive global image through creative engagement.
The meeting also highlighted the growing role of cultural diplomacy in building stronger international relationships and creating opportunities for Pakistani artists to gain greater recognition abroad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, High Commissioner Tipu Usman congratulated Sameer Nasir on his recent marriage and extended his best wishes for a happy and successful future.
