ISLAMABAD – After releasing its mobile network rankings, Ookla has now published its Speedtest Connectivity Report for broadband internet providers in Pakistan, based on performance data collected between January and June 2025.

According to the report, PTCL Flash Fiber secured the top spot with a score of 56.95, narrowly beating Transworld (56.71) and Nayatel (56.31), making the competition among the top three providers extremely close. Cybernet and Connect Communications rounded off the top five, while PTCL’s non-fiber connections lagged far behind with a score of just 41.59.

City-Wise Rankings

  • Islamabad led the country in broadband performance, recording a median download speed of 20.36 Mbps.
  • Karachi followed in second place, with Rawalpindi in third.
  • At the bottom, Faisalabad reported the slowest median speed of 13.77 Mbps, followed by Multan and Peshawar.
Across these cities, PTCL Flash Fiber consistently emerged as the fastest provider.

Regional Performance

  • The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) also topped the regional rankings with 20.21 Mbps median speeds.
  • Sindh ranked second, and Balochistan came third.
  • The weakest connectivity was observed in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (5.31 Mbps), followed by Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
PTCL Flash Fiber again proved dominant, emerging as the fastest broadband provider across four regions.

This latest report highlights Pakistan’s steady but uneven progress in broadband connectivity, with top cities and fiber-based networks showing strong results, while certain regions and non-fiber connections continue to lag behind.
