Karachi: NJV School has unveiled a landmark art exhibition titled “Muraqqa-e-Sheher” (The City’s Album), highlighting the city’s urban and cultural identity through a diverse collection of contemporary and traditional artworks.

The exhibition, curated by Romila Kareem and hosted by Farzana Tunio, brings together leading artists, educators, and members of the art community, marking an important milestone in the institution’s evolving creative and academic vision.
The event features works by prominent artists including Meher Afroz, Abdul Jabbar Gul, Furrukh Shahab, Shahana Munawwar, Adnan Mairaj, Hassnain Awais, Munawwar Ali Syed, and Nusrat Khawaja. The exhibition reflects the layered urban experience of Karachi, offering artistic interpretations of the city’s cultural and social fabric.
Speaking at the opening, Farzana Tunio emphasized the importance of integrating art, education, and heritage. She said the exhibition represents NJV School’s commitment to creating a space where traditional craftsmanship and contemporary artistic dialogue come together to shape future creative leaders.
The exhibition also coincides with the launch of a new diploma program in art and design, aimed at strengthening vocational arts education in Pakistan and setting new academic standards in creative disciplines.
Organizers stated that “Muraqqa-e-Sheher” serves as both a cultural showcase and an educational milestone, reinforcing NJV School’s vision of combining academic training with high-profile artistic platforms.
The exhibition will remain open for public viewing until May 15, offering visitors an opportunity to explore Karachi’s evolving identity through the lens of its artists.
NJV Art and Design Department reiterated its mission to nurture emerging talent and promote artistic excellence, while continuing to provide students with opportunities for exposure, innovation, and global creative engagement.
