KARACHI: Nestlé Pakistan won the top prize – the Diamond Award – at the Employer of the Year 2nd Disability Inclusion Recognition Awards. The recognition signifies Nestlé Pakistan’s constant commitment towards providing a conducive environment for work and fostering a work-life balance for persons with disabilities.
The awards were part of Employers Federation of Pakistan’s National Dialogue on Disability Inclusion organized in collaboration with International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF and GIZ under the German?Pakistan development cooperation.
Talking about the achievement, Hajra Omer, Head of Human Resources, Nestlé Pakistan said, “We take pride in fostering a culture that prioritizes trust, respect, inclusion, innovation, and empowerment, as we strive to be a force for good for everyone.”
Highlighting Nestlé’s initiatives, she added, “Nestlé Pakistan’s Hai Tum Pe Yakeen traineeship program has onboarded many individuals with disabilities; we have also launched a NesAbility Employee Resource Group (ERG) that supports and advocates for employees with disabilities.”
Congratulating Nestlé Pakistan on winning the Disability Inclusion Recognition Award, Syed Nazar Ali, Secretary General, Employers Federation of Pakistan, said, “EFP-Pakistan Business Disability Network are proud of recognizing of all our participating organizations, especially Nestlé’s exceptional commitment to fostering inclusivity and accessibility in the workplace”.
Nestlé Pakistan is a member of the Pakistan Business Disability Network (PBDN), has collaborations with Sightsavers, STEP, DeafReach, DeafTawk, NOWPDP, and Labard to enhance disability hiring and workplace best practices.
The awards were compiled based on a multisectoral survey covering all aspects of human resource management, such as employment practices, labor laws, working conditions, training and skill development, women empowerment and responsible business conduct among others.
