Naval Chief: Future Wars Demand Technological Expertise and Strategic Adaptability, Says Navy Chief

Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, has said that future conflicts will require armed forces to rethink traditional warfighting concepts and develop a technologically skilled and intellectually capable workforce to meet emerging challenges.

Addressing participants of the 55th Pakistan Navy Staff Course during his visit to Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore, the Naval Chief highlighted the changing nature of modern warfare and the growing complexity of maritime security threats.

He said armed forces must adopt adaptive strategies to effectively counter both conventional and non-conventional threats. Admiral Naveed Ashraf emphasized that rapid technological advancements and evolving security dynamics demand greater strategic awareness and operational readiness.

The Naval Chief reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to modernization, indigenization and jointness, urging officers to strengthen their strategic thinking and operational foresight to address future security challenges.

Discussing regional maritime security, he noted that the Indian Ocean Region remains fluid and contested, with changing geopolitical realities and increasing power competition shaping the regional security environment.

During his concluding remarks, Admiral Naveed Ashraf congratulated the participants on successfully completing the Pakistan Navy Staff Course. He encouraged them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, analytical excellence and innovation throughout their careers.

The visit underscored Pakistan Navy’s focus on developing future military leaders capable of responding to an increasingly complex and evolving security landscape.
