Karachi: The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, attended a media briefing session at the Karachi Press Club today.

The meeting was also attended by representatives Syed Syedain Raza Zaidi, Chairman Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Syed Hasan Nasir Shah, Chairman Port Qasim Authority (PQA). Mr. Jarrar Haider Shah Kazmi, Executive Director (Finance). Mr. Khurrum Mirza , Executive Director (SP&PL). Mr. Mustafa Kizibash, Executive Director (Commercial) from Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC),

During the session, the Minister shared updates on the latest developments in the maritime sector, including initiatives to promote Pakistan’s maritime economy, enhance trade and commerce, and improve the country’s shipping and ports infrastructure.

Further, The Minister of Maritime Affairs, Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, unveiled the upcoming International Maritime Sustainability Exhibition & Conference (IMSEC). IMSEC, scheduled to take place on 12th,13th, & 14th of September 2024.

IMSEC is a premier gathering designed to propel the Pakistan’s maritime economy forward by fostering global and regional partnerships and facilitating investments.
Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

IMSEC serves as a platform for the Pakistani and international maritime community to address critical industry issues and share insights to advance the sector.

Featuring an investor conference and an international exhibition, IMSEC aims to foster interaction and collaboration among Pakistani and international maritime companies, policymakers, investors, and various stakeholders. Additionally, the event includes session to encourage dialogue and cooperation among key industry leaders.

In response to questions from the media, the Minister provided insights into the government’s vision for the maritime sector and its plans to address the challenges facing the industry.

The representatives from leading media outlets appreciated the Minister’s openness and willingness to engage with the media.
