Karachi — The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has lauded Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab for the timely completion of repair works on the KPT Bridge located on Korangi Road, a project undertaken by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
Junaid Naqi, President of KATI, congratulated the Mayor and KMC for successfully finishing the repairs within the stipulated time frame. He said the reopening of the bridge would significantly improve traffic flow, particularly benefiting commuters from Baloch Colony Expressway and Qayyumabad traveling toward Korangi Road.
Naqi acknowledged KMC as a vital civic institution striving to serve the people of Pakistan’s largest city under the leadership of Mayor Wahab. He expressed satisfaction over the bridge repairs and resurfacing being completed in just one month, stating that both the public and business community in the Korangi industrial zone are grateful for this effort.
He further commended the successful collaboration between KMC and the traffic police, which ensured the smooth flow of traffic by utilizing effective alternate routes during the repair period.
Naqi emphasized that Karachi is a beautiful city and appreciated the Mayor’s proactive approach in owning and investing in its development. He said that under Wahab’s leadership, more infrastructure projects by Local Government are already underway and reflect a continued commitment to progress.
Highlighting KATI’s longstanding support for the city’s beautification and development, Naqi urged both the provincial and city governments to expedite key infrastructure projects, including repairs on the Korangi Causeway and Jam Sadiq Bridge. He recommended increasing manpower and machinery to ensure timely completion.
Naqi also proposed that all ongoing development schemes should be updated on Google Maps to enhance transparency, public access, and allow citizens to monitor progress in real-time through technology. This, he noted, would improve civic trust and provide timely updates on traffic diversions and project status.
He concluded by stressing that maintaining quality and ensuring timely completion of road and bridge projects would deliver much-needed relief to citizens and help restore public confidence in municipal institutions.
