Karachi: The stage is set for the 21st edition of Pharma Asia, Pakistan’s premier pharmaceutical industry exhibition, to be held from August 20-22, 2024, at the Karachi Expo Centre.
Organized by Ecommerce Gateway, this year’s event promises to be the most impactful yet. With more than 200 companies showcasing their latest products, technologies, and services across 750 booths, the exhibition floor will be a vibrant hub of activity and networking. With delegates and exhibitors from 15 countries, including a major pavilion from China, Pharma Asia 2024 will offer unparalleled opportunities for international collaboration and business development.
Kicking off on the first day, the convention will feature distinguished speakers and thought leaders. Mr. Asim Rauf, CEO, Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) will be the Chief Guest for the convention, who will share insights on the regulatory landscape and future trends in the industry. The convention will also address the significant shift in pharmaceutical production from multinational corporations (MNCs) to local companies. This transition has enabled local pharmaceutical manufacturers to meet the majority of Pakistan’s market requirements, underscoring the growth and resilience of the domestic industry.
“Pharma Asia 2024 is more than just an exhibition; it is a platform for shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan and beyond. We are thrilled to host such a diverse and dynamic event that not only showcases the latest innovations but also fosters meaningful collaborations and partnerships,” said Dr. Khursheed Nizam, President, Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan. “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers’ Association (PPMA) for their unwavering support and dedication to the growth of the sector. Their positive role in championing industry standards and advocating for advancements has been instrumental in our collective success,” he maintained.
Pharma Asia has consistently been a cornerstone event for the pharmaceutical industry, fostering innovation, collaboration, and growth. This year’s edition is particularly noteworthy in light of the recent government deregulation of prices for non-essential medicines. This policy shift is expected to open doors for higher profitability, stimulate competition, and drive innovation across the sector, positioning Pakistan as a competitive player in the global pharmaceutical market.
The growth of the pharmaceutical industry is also bolstered by the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s (SIFC) efforts, which have created a conducive environment for investment and expansion. The SIFC’s initiatives have significantly contributed to the industry’s upward trajectory, attracting both local and international investments. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights, forge strategic partnerships, and explore new business opportunities in a dynamic and supportive environment.
