Karachi’s police have arrested a man on charges of raping a 15-year-old girl in the Korangi area of the City of Lights, a crime allegedly committed five days ago.
According to the police, the man raped the minor girl in a stitching shop. The family complained about the crime, after which the police came into action and arrested the alleged rapist.
The Station House Officer (SHO), Malik Amir, stated that the accused man, Pervaiz, is a friend of the victim’s father and targeted her. Following the incident, he went into hiding due to fear of arrest. He will undergo a medical examination to confirm the crime.
In the past, a similar incident was reported earlier this year in Karachi, where a 9-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a self-taught fake doctor in the Surjani Town area of Karachi and was caught by local residents.
The residents handed over the alleged rapist to the police after meting out punishment to him, as the public often does in Karachi these days, allegedly due to a perception of injustice and police tactics that benefit criminals.
The victim girl, in her statement, stated that she was forcibly grabbed and raped by the so-called doctor in a clinic located in the Surjani Town area of Karachi. Surjani Town police said the girl was undergoing medical treatment.
