Karachi — Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that Karachi’s ongoing heatwave is expected to continue until Monday, with high humidity and suspended sea breezes intensifying weather conditions across the city.

Sindh Observes Public Holiday on Labour Day to Honour Workers’ Rights and Historic Struggles

According to the Met Office, the minimum temperature recorded in Karachi was 28°C, while the current temperature stood at 31°C during the day. The maximum temperature is expected to range between 36°C and 38°C.

Officials stated that humidity levels have reached approximately 72 percent, making temperatures feel two to three degrees hotter than the actual reading. Westerly winds are currently blowing at around 8 kilometers per hour, while skies are expected to remain mostly clear with no rainfall forecast.

Meteorologists noted that the temporary suspension of sea breezes has contributed significantly to the increased heat intensity being experienced across the metropolis.

The PMD has also forecast predominantly hot and dry weather conditions across most parts of Pakistan, particularly in southern regions where severe heat is expected to persist.

In Islamabad and adjoining areas, weather conditions are likely to remain hot and dry. Most districts of Sindh are expected to continue facing intense heat, while central and southern areas may experience strong dusty winds during afternoon hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, southern districts are expected to remain hot and dry, whereas upper regions, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, could receive isolated light rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms.

Most parts of Balochistan are also likely to experience dry and hot weather, with severe heat forecast for southern districts.

Meanwhile, hill stations including Murree and Galiyat are expected to remain partly cloudy with generally dry conditions.

Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures during peak daytime hours, stay hydrated, and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight amid the continuing heatwave.
