Mumbai: Looks like November and December is the wedding season in Bollywood. Yesterday, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh announced that they will get married on 15th November. As per reports, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are set to tie the knot on December 2. And now comes Kapil Sharma, who will get married to his long-time girlfriend, Ginni Chatrath on December 12. Kapil spoke to news agency IANS and revealed the dates.
The couple will get married in Jalandhar (Ginni’s hometown) and they’ll host a grand reception in Mumbai on December 14. He told Mediathat while he wanted the wedding to be low-key, Ginni’s family want a grand celebration. “We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish,” Kapil Shrama was quoted saying.
He added,
“During the time when my brother married, I had not started earning well. We just went as a small baraat (wedding procession) and got bhabhi (sister-in-law) home. But by the time my sister got married, I had begun to earn well. So we had a fairly large wedding. It was lavish by our standards.”
He was wanting to tell the wedding date to his fans since a long time but he kept quiet because he wanted to promote his Punjabi film, Son Of Manjeet Singh – Kapil’s first film as producer.
“For the past few weeks, I’ve been promoting my Punjabi film. I didn’t want to talk about the wedding during the promotions, although the media repeatedly kept asking,” he said.
He also said that more than him, his mother is happy.
“Of course I am. But more than me, the happiness that I see on my mother’s face is what makes it special,”
