Imsha Rehman, whose leaked video recently went viral, has spoken out in an interview, addressing questions about how the video was leaked and the arrest of the alleged culprit.
According to media reports, the incident has raised serious concerns, especially regarding the misuse of social media platforms like Meta to spread fake content. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been actively investigating the matter and has arrested the individual responsible.
Imsha shared that the viral video has severely impacted her life, leaving her unable to attend university, face people, or cope with ongoing death threats. She emphasized how some individuals carelessly share such videos without realizing the devastating consequences on a person’s life. Instead of taking matters into her own hands, she opted for legal action to identify and hold the culprit accountable.
She urges the public to understand the gravity of such actions, stressing that sharing such content can destroy lives. Imsha also called for a societal shift in Pakistan, encouraging victims to speak up while ensuring that both content creators and those spreading such videos face consequences.
The case has become a wake-up call for young girls, highlighting the risks of the internet despite its opportunities. The arrested suspect, Abdul Azaj from Gujranwala, claims he only shared a meme and did not originally post the video. However, FIA officials reaffirmed that anyone involved in spreading objectionable content on social media can now be traced and held accountable.
