ICI Pakistan and AstraZeneca Donate 10,000 KN95 Masks to NHSRC for COVID-19.

ICI Pakistan Pharmaceuticals in collaboration with AstraZeneca UK Limited, today donated10,000 KN95 masks to the Drug Regulatory Authority, Ministry of National Health Services of Pakistan in response to calls for personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers and other frontline responders battling COVID-19 across the country. As of Monday, June 1, 2020, Pakistan had confirmed more than 72,000 novel coronavirus cases.

“ICI Pakistan’s mission and responsibility is now more crucial than ever before,” said Aamer Malik, Vice President, ICI Pakistan Pharmaceuticals. “We not only have to ensure business continuity and manufacturing in this difficult time to bring life-saving drugs to market, but do everything in our power to protect our communities. We extend our deepest appreciation to the many healthcare providers who are doing so much and risking their lives to help affected patients and communities, and to our own employees who are focused on maintaining supplies in these unprecedented times.” He further added that, “ICI Pakistan and AstraZeneca have had a longstanding relationship and are constantly collaborating in their efforts to bring improved medical solutions to patients across Pakistan”.

Since the first case of coronavirus was reported in Pakistan, ICI Pakistan Pharmaceuticals has donated PPEs to the Government and various institutions, having committed close to PKR 10 million to this effort.

As member of the Pharma Bureau Pakistan, the Company has also participated in the effort to help equip the COVID-19 unit at the Civil Hospital, Karachi.
