Houston (Special Correspondent): Like every year, this year too, the largest Houston Iftar dinner in the United States, hosted by Mayor Houston Sylvester Turner, will take place on April 10 at the city’s famous Bay City Event Center. Arrangements have been made for Iftar for more than 1500 people, while online registration has been completed for participation in the Grand Iftar Dinner. It is to be noted that last year due to the ban on Coronavirus people were given boxes of Iftar dinner through drive thru but this year due to the removal of Corona ban the Iftar dinner is being held in its traditional in person style
Iftar Dinner is being organized this year by Muslim Sister Cities including, Houston Abu Dhabi, Baku, Basrah, Istanbul & Karachi Sister City Association, ISGH, Ismaili Council, and more than 50 organizations including Bohra Community. The Iftar Dinner is sponsored annually by Houston Karachi Sister City Association Chief Patron and Oil Tycoon Javed Anwar.
A meeting of the management committee was held under the chairmanship of Coordinator, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh to review the final arrangements of Iftar Dinner in which various committees presented their reports. Earlier this week the Committee also visited the Bayou City Event Center and expressed satisfaction over the arrangement speaking to the media on the occasion, Coordinator, Muhammad Saeed Sheikh said that all the arrangements for the Iftar Dinner have been completed. For the interest of Muslim community, Iftar dinner will be broadcast live on local Pakistani channels TV One and NTV, including American channel ABC & HTV from 6 pm on Sunday, April 10, 2022.
