People must take to the streets — free gas, electricity and petrol for ministers and advisors is a burden on the public.
Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener, Balochistan – Awaam Pakistan Party
Karachi: Syed Aman Shah, Provincial Convener of the Awaam Pakistan Party Balochistan, has demanded that the government immediately withdraw the recent hike in petroleum prices. He stated that this increase will lead to further inflation, and given the declining purchasing power of the people, the economic conditions are already deteriorating rapidly.
Syed Aman Shah further said that the burden of free gas, electricity and petrol provided to ministers and advisors is being unfairly placed on the people. “There is now only one solution — the people must leave their homes and take to the streets,” he asserted.
He pointed out that the public has not been given any relief in petrol prices, and due to the federal government’s incompetence and failure, citizens are now suffering the punishment of power outages. The rulers have no concern for the dignity, development, or progress of the country and its people. The tsunami and monster of inflation have consumed the nation. If the current pace of inflation continues, there is a serious risk that the distressed population may be driven to mass suicides.
He added that the government provided no relief to the common man even in the recent budget, and now they have added to the misery by increasing petrol prices. Instead of curbing inflation, the rulers have unleashed it to further torment the poor. Loans and the interest from the IMF are being recovered directly from the suffering public.
