ISLAMABAD – The federal government has unveiled a new initiative to plant fruit trees along motorways and highways across the country as part of its broader green growth and climate action strategy.
According to an official press release, the program is designed to promote environmental sustainability, attract private investment, and contribute to national climate goals.

The decision was finalized in a high-level meeting in Islamabad, which included Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik and Minister for Communications Aleem Khan.
Private investors will be invited to lease land adjacent to highways and cultivate fruit varieties that are suited to the local climate. This public-private partnership is expected to boost both environmental and economic outcomes.
