ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has urged religious leaders and members of society to take ownership of the war against extremism.
Addressing a news conference in Lahore this afternoon,he said PTI Government is committed to make Pakistan a social welfare state in line with Riasat e Madina and measures are being taken to achieve this goal.
He said that minorities will be provided with their due rights by PTI Government.
The Minister said measures are being taken to ensure law and order situation.
He said government is marking the 12th of Rabi ul Awwal at official level by organizing special ceremonies all over the country.
Fawad Chaudry said Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Rehmat ul lil Aalameen Conference on 20th of this month.
The Occasion will be graced by Imam e Kaaba and scholars of UAE and other Islamic countries.
He said Meer Waiz Omar Farooq will also address the Conference via communication facility.
The Minister said President of Pakistan will be the Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony of this grand event.
He said Mahafil e Naat and Samaa will be held in Lahore and other major cities.
Radio Pakistan and PTV will organize Naat Competitions and other special programs on the occasion of 12th Rabi ul Awwal.
Information Minister said Prime Minister is the only leader who called the students of religious seminaries our own children.
The minister said love for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) is the foundation of Islam, whereas a group of people is trying to misuse the issue for political gain.
He urged religious segments of society to come forward to counter such groups who are playing politics in the name of religion.
To a question, Information Minister said PTI Government will restore the prestige of Pakistan at world level.
He said menace of corruption cannot be eliminated until the powerful circles are made accountable.
Fawad Chaudhry said appointment of Opposition leader Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif as Chairman of Public Accounts Committee is illogical.
To a question,the Minister said health cards will be issued to journalists.
