Environment Conference 2026 will take place in Karachi on August 6, bringing together policymakers, environmental experts, business leaders and development professionals. The National Forum for Environment & Health (NFEH) will host the event alongside the 23rd Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2026. This year’s theme is “Reclaiming Pakistan’s Livable Future: From Collateral Damage to Collective Ownership.”

Keynote Speakers to Address Environmental Challenges

The conference will begin with a welcome address by NFEH President Muhammad Naeem Qureshi. Afterward, Dr. Zainab Naeem of the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), DIG Traffic Sindh Peer Muhammad Shah and Younus Dagha, Chairman of the Policy Research & Advisory Council, will deliver keynote speeches.

The speakers will discuss climate resilience, environmental governance and practical policy reforms. In addition, they will highlight innovative solutions for Pakistan’s growing urban and environmental challenges.

Environment Conference 2026 will serve as a platform for sharing ideas and encouraging cooperation between government institutions, businesses and civil society.

Experts to Discuss Climate and Urban Sustainability

A high-level panel discussion will focus on climate action, clean energy, urban planning and water management. Moreover, experts will examine ways to build resilient and resource-efficient cities through stronger partnerships.

The session will be moderated by Yasir Husain, Founder and Director of the Climate Action Centre (CAC). Panelists include Engr. Irfan Ahmad, Kashif Rasheed of Mondelez Pakistan, Muhammad Toheed of Karachi Urban Lab at IBA Karachi, Chief Meteorologist Ameer Hyder Laghari and a representative of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation.

They will discuss policy reforms, emerging technologies and collaborative approaches to improve environmental sustainability.

Environment Excellence Awards 2026

The conference will conclude with the 23rd Annual Environment Excellence Awards 2026. Meanwhile, the awards will recognize organizations that have demonstrated excellence in environmental protection, sustainable development, resource efficiency and corporate responsibility.

The ceremony will feature remarks from NFEH leadership, members of the awards jury and distinguished guests before the presentation of awards.

For more than two decades, the NFEH Annual Environment Conference has promoted collaboration among government, academia, industry and civil society. Finally, organizers hope this year’s event will strengthen partnerships, encourage innovation and accelerate collective action for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Pakistan.
