The Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted a grand Eid Open House at his residence, welcoming over 400 guests to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The event brought together members of the Pakistani-American community, including individuals from diverse walks of life, senior elected officials, local dignitaries, federal and state officials, members of the Consular Corps, as well as academics and media professionals. Among the distinguished attendees was U.S. Congressman Jonathan Jackson. Consul General Tariq Karim and Mrs. Aasma Tariq warmly greeted each guest, fostering a strong sense of community and inclusion.
Guests praised the Consul General’s efforts in bringing together such a diverse group of community members, their families, and local officials from across the Midwest to celebrate Eid. They described the gathering as a wonderful opportunity to network, socialize, and strengthen bonds of friendship. The residence, adorned with traditional Pakistani handicrafts and a sumptuous spread of Pakistani cuisine, created an atmosphere reminiscent of Pakistan.
