Chicago USA : The Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, hosted a grand Eid Open House at his residence, welcoming over 400 guests to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The event brought together members of the Pakistani-American community, including individuals from diverse walks of life, senior elected officials, local dignitaries, federal and state officials, members of the Consular Corps, as well as academics and media professionals. Among the distinguished attendees was U.S. Congressman Jonathan Jackson. Consul General Tariq Karim and Mrs. Aasma Tariq warmly greeted each guest, fostering a strong sense of community and inclusion.
Guests praised the Consul General’s efforts in bringing together such a diverse group of community members, their families, and local officials from across the Midwest to celebrate Eid. They described the gathering as a wonderful opportunity to network, socialize, and strengthen bonds of friendship. The residence, adorned with traditional Pakistani handicrafts and a sumptuous spread of Pakistani cuisine, created an atmosphere reminiscent of Pakistan.
In his welcoming remarks, Consul General Tariq Karim extended warm Eid greetings to all attendees, emphasizing that Eid is not only a time for celebration but also an occasion to promote unity, compassion, and understanding across all backgrounds.
He further highlighted that coming together to celebrate Eid serves as a testament to a shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous world. The Consul General also encouraged community members and elected officials to play an active role in strengthening the Pak-U.S. partnership. The elected officials also underscored the significance of the Pak-U.S. relationship and the vibrant role of the Pakistani-American community. The event concluded with prayers for the well-being and prosperity of Pakistan.
