Pakistani actor Dananeer Mobeen made a striking appearance at the UK premiere of Mera Lyari in London, turning heads with an outfit that paid homage to the film’s themes and the spirit of Lyari.

Styled by Saad Hassan, Mobeen opted for a white wide-collared shirt with puffed shoulders paired with a traditional Balochi shalwar. The understated base allowed the standout piece—a richly embroidered corset—to take center stage.

The corset featured intricate threadwork depicting young girls playing football, along with motifs of rickshaws, palm trees, and florals in earthy and vibrant tones. A prominent banner stitched across it read “Lyari ka Fakhar” (The Pride of Lyari), reinforcing the narrative of the film.

Her accessories added a bold edge to the look. She wore a statement necklace with three large heart-shaped gold pieces, paired with rings and a traditional panja bracelet. Gold earrings and colorful, custom-designed nails—featuring “Lyari” and a bedazzled “L”—completed the ensemble.

Her hair was styled into a bubble ponytail, with each section tied using beaded hair ties, adding a playful yet elegant finish.

Mobeen praised her creative team, noting that the outfit was delivered in a tight timeframe by designer Ahmed Manan, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the look.

Mera Lyari, which previously screened at the UK Asian Film Festival, is set for release in Pakistan this Friday. The film stars Ayesha Omar as a disabled football coach who returns to her hometown Lyari to build a girls’ team. Mobeen plays Afsana, alongside Trinette Lucas as Kashmala, portraying young women using football as an escape from domestic challenges.

The film highlights resilience, empowerment, and the transformative power of sport within marginalized communities.
