Karachi, November 19, 2025 – Sheikh Waqas Anjum, General Secretary of the Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA), has stated that the recent container backlog at Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT), which had been causing delays and operational difficulties, has now been cleared.

He stated that this improvement was made possible through effective coordination between KCAA, Pakistan Customs Appraisement (West), and KICT Management. KCAA remained in constant contact with all stakeholders to ensure a timely resolution of the issue.

KCAA acknowledged the efforts made by the Customs Department and the management of KICT in restoring the normal workflow. At the same time, KCAA emphasized the importance of maintaining such efficiency consistently to prevent similar backlogs from occurring in the future.

The Association reaffirmed its commitment to closely monitoring port operational matters and staying in constant communication with Customs authorities and Terminal Operators to safeguard the interests of its members and ensure smooth trade facilitation.
