Consul General of Turkey visits Korangi Association of Trade & Industry

KARACHI – Consul General of Turkey, Tolga Ucak said that Turkey always supports Pakistan in difficult times; our friendship has deep historical roots. He was talking to a gathering of industrialists at Korangi Association of Trade & Industry.

On this occasion, President KATI Danish Khan, Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman, Vice President Maheen Salman, Head of KATI’s standing committee on diplomatic affairs Masood Naqi, Zubair Chhaya, Syed Farukh Mazhar and others welcomed the CG at KATI.

Mr. Ucak said that the volume of bilateral trade between both countries was gradually expanding, there are plenty of opportunities for joint industrial investments for the industrialists of both countries. Turk tourists are very much willing to come to Pakistan. The Turkish envoy said that business to business contacts should enhance and especially in value addition sector there are a lot of opportunities for both countries.

President KATI Danish Khan, in his welcoming note, applauded the firm and strong stance of Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in the support of Pakistan, during current Indo-Pak crisis. He said that Turkey is a proven friend of Pakistan. Mr Khan said that industry, Processing and tourism are the key sectors, should be focused upon to enhance economic ties of the both countries.

He also said that for water treatment and industrial waste processing equipment we would prefer Turkish manufacturers. He also suggested joint investment ventures in large manufacturing sector. Head of KATI’s standing committee on diplomatic affairs Masood Naqi said that industry in Pakistan is using Turkish machinery on large scale, there is need to establish training institute in Pakistan for the industrial workforce with the collaboration of both brother countries. He noted that although the bilateral trade volume of both countries improved during current years, but there is a lot potential to be explored.
